Confirmation Classes

Confirmation is a two-year process for students beginning in Grade 7.  For Lutherans, Confirmation is a public affirmation of a person's baptismal faith through a process of catechesis (questions and answers) and training in the basics of our faith. Pastor Janssen leads our 7th and 8th grade Confirmation students through an in-depth study of the Bible and Martin Luther's Small Catechism.  At the end of this 2-year study, the students are questioned publicly in front of the congregation.  Following this successful completion, the students are then Confirmed through the Rite of Confirmation, which includes their receiving Holy Communion.  This generally occurs on Palm Sunday.

Adults in our new members' class are also instructed in the Christian faith by Pastor Janssen, and are confirmed as part of becoming a new member at Prince of Peace.

If you are interested in learning more about the Confirmation process, and what it means to us as Lutherans, please contact the church office to learn more about this important component of the Christian faith.
